"Rivers know this: There is no hurry. We shall get there some day."
Winnie the Pooh
Meet Aleigha!
I have spent many years learning to combat stigmatizing sociocultural messaging around body, weight, dieting, nutrition, and movement. Unpacking the damage from the marketing of the health and wellness industry is no small feat and can feel like a steep learning curve - for you and me both! There is no single right way to have a body and move throughout the world, and we can work together to find a way to make your experience as a human with a body a little more peaceful.

Why Hundred Acre?
The Hundred Acre Forest is home to many of my favourite childhood friends. Namely, Body Positive icon Winnie the Pooh! Who better to represent Hundred Acre Counselling than a sweet, loving friend with a round tummy full of hunny!
Find Peace with your Body
Mend your relationship with food
Our relationship with food can be complex. It can be heavily influenced by childhood circumstances, socioeconomic factors, sociocultural pressure and stigma, and so much more. Making peace with food in a world dominated by diet culture and fatphobia is a tall task, but it is possible.
Move with Joy
For many, movement has been weaponized to serve as a punishment or compensation for eating. Movement can be an incredibly important resource for our overall health and wellbeing. Unlearning damaging messaging around movement and rediscovering the freedom and joy that movement can bring us is powerful.
Release shame and heal wounds
The physical body can be a target for hatred, shame, bullying, discrimination, and oppression. These experiences can severely impact our health and wellness. Through tender self-compassion and fierce advocacy, we can begin to release the shame held within our bodies and mend the wounds that hold us back from living as our full authentic selves.
“And I said to my body, softly, ‘I want to be your friend.’ It took a long breath. And replied, ‘I have been waiting my whole life for this.'”
